DOMAIN 1: PRE-INSPECTION SURVEY
- Knowledge of standards and regulations applicable to crane inspection, including, but not limited to ASME B30 and OSHA
- Have specific knowledge of cranes and crane types, including:
- Configuration/types
- Terminology
- Applications
- Components
DOMAIN 2: VISUAL INSPECTION
- Know and understand systems, including, but not limited to:
- Pneumatic
- Hydraulic
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Structural
- Know the requirements for access and egress
- General knowledge of tire requirements
- Knowledge of proper operation of:
- Safety devices
- Operational aids
- General knowledge of wire rope, including:
- Rejection criteria
- Reeving specifications
